Southern Areas
The highest points in Fairfield County are located south of Delmont along Delmont Road.
The DEM images for this county are formatted slightly different from the others. The bold contours are 20 foot contours instead of 10 foot contours. Below 1220 feet, the thin contours are 4 foot contours. Above 1240 feet, brown 2-foot intermediate contours are introduced.
Of the two southern areas, the one on the west appears to be the highest. This area is located near a radio tower. The DEM gives a peak elevation for this easy-to-reach area of 1242.7 feet.
The area on the other side of the hill, to the east, is located in what used to be a clearing. Aerial imagery now indicates that it has been mostly planted over with coniferous trees. The DEM gives a maximum elevation for this area of 1240.5 feet. Also, the size of the 1240 foot contour is miniscule in comparison to the area just to the west. As such, this area is probably not in contention for the high point.

Northern Area
The third area in Fairfield County is just northwest of the other two, on the other side of Delmont Road. The DEM gives a maximum elevation for this area of 1240.5 feet, and like with the second area mentioned just above, the 1240 contour is very small.
The Schwab report notes that this area has seen some quarrying, which makes sense when looking at the blocky appearance of the contours on the DEM image. Natural elevation changes generally look smoother than these. At one time, this hill was probably a bit higher, but given the data, it appears the first of the southern areas is the highest in the county.
