Medina HP

The highest ground in Medina County is located off of King Road, north of Bellus Road, near Richfield.

The original topo depicts a north-south ridge with two small areas of 1320+ feet. The LiDAR DEM draws one contiguous 1320 foot contour across the two original areas, with clear rises at the locations of the contours on the original topo.

The LiDAR data gives a maximum elevation for the northern original contour of 1324.2 feet, and gives 1323.8 feet for the southern area. These values are negligibly different, so both areas should be visited.

The aerial photography indicates that there are three houses straddling the highest ground. A close inspection of the LiDAR DEM at its highest resolution shows some flaws in the data, likely caused by the removal of non-ground targets during the creation of the DEM. These errors are common, but in this case likely prevent a determination on which of the two original areas may be higher. Anecdotally, if performing an analysis incorporating the flaws in the data at face value, the northern area appears to be the highest. However, I will not recommend one area over the other for visiting.
