Genesee County High Point Trip Report

I completed the Genesee County highpoints immediately after completing Livingston County, since they are within a few miles of each other.

The directions from the previous trip report are in good shape. Driving north on Hartland road, the county line is signaled by the "Fenton city limit" sign. Here, the road changes to State road, and re-orients itself as southwest-to-northeast. On the southeast side of the road is an elementary school. I parked at the school parking lot and hiked southwest along State road, towards the end of the school's field. The field ends right at the county line, which is also where the road bends. The highest spot appeared to be just southwest of two trees, just inside of a row of fence posts near the road.

The second area is across the road in a subdivision. A side street used to connect to State road right across from the first highpoint area, but it has been blocked off to car traffic. Just on the northeast of this street-remnant is a small, tree-lined ridge, along the borderline between two backyards. I determined this to be the highest area, and that the highest point was no more than 10-15 feet from the sidewalk.
