Johan Hedberg
Stick

This Sher-Wood stick was used by Johan Hedberg while playing with the Manitoba Moose. The stick is un-signed. The stick was last used during warm-ups on December 14, 2000, at the Detroit Vipers' home rink at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
After that evening's hockey game, the Moose had a pile of sticks that they were throwing away. The Hedberg stick has a break near the blade, but looks no worse for wear in my collection. The team had already departed the arena, so I was unable to meet up with Hedberg to get it signed. Although Hedberg is not one of the former-Vipers that I specifically collect, I always planned on keeping this stick for my collection.
There were a few other decent items found that evening. Among them was a game-used Phillipe Boucher stick. As I was not a fan of Boucher -- and as I could not by any means predict he would end up as an NHL All-Star -- I made it my street-hockey stick, and still use it to this day.
